Carbon Reduction Strategy

Policy Statement

K2 Associates UK Limited is committed to reducing our carbon emissions and fostering environmental sustainability in all aspects of our business operations. This Carbon Reduction Strategy outlines our approach towards achieving a lower carbon footprint and our journey towards environmental sustainability.

Introduction and Background

K2 Associates UK Limited acknowledges the imperative of environmental sustainability and is devoted to reducing the environmental impact of our business activities. As part of our business management systems, we are committed to continuous improvement of our environmental policies and objectives. One significant step in this direction has been the introduction of a Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP), which showcases our dedication to achieving a lower carbon footprint.

Current Carbon Footprint Assessment

Our recent assessments have helped us understand our current carbon emissions level, providing a baseline for our carbon reduction targets. As we strive towards achieving Net Zero, we have set a carbon reduction target of decreasing our carbon emissions to 201 tCO2e by 2027, a reduction of 17.9%.

Legislative Compliance

We aim to ensure full compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Our Carbon Reduction Strategy is designed to align with, and exceed where possible, the regulatory requirements pertaining to carbon emissions and environmental sustainability.

Technology and Innovation

Leveraging technology and innovation is crucial for achieving our carbon reduction targets. We will explore and adopt energy-efficient technologies, innovative processes, and sustainable practices that contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.

Stakeholder Communication

Transparent communication with our stakeholders, employees, and the broader community is vital for building support and engagement towards our carbon reduction goals. We will regularly share updates on our progress, challenges, and successes in reducing carbon emissions.

Carbon Reduction Measures

1. Waste Management:

  • Monitor waste reduction, re-use, and recycling to minimise our waste output and promote a circular economy within our operations.

2. Water Usage:

  • Monitor water usage and implement water-saving measures to ensure efficient water management.

3. Greener Transport Initiatives:

  • Encourage staff to adopt greener modes of transport such as walking, cycling, car-sharing, or using public transport for commuting where possible.
  • Promote the use of greener fuels in personal vehicles among staff where possible.

Monitoring and Reporting

Regular monitoring and reporting on our progress towards the carbon reduction targets will be carried out to ensure transparency and to evaluate the effectiveness of our carbon reduction measures.

Evaluation and Feedback

We will establish procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of our carbon reduction measures. Feedback from stakeholders, employees, and external audits will be invaluable for continuous improvement and ensuring our strategy remains relevant and effective.

Engagement and Collaboration

Engaging with our stakeholders, employees, suppliers, and the community is crucial for fostering a collaborative approach towards achieving our carbon reduction goals.

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to an ongoing evaluation and improvement of our carbon reduction strategy to ensure we stay on track in achieving our environmental sustainability objectives.
